Lindsay and Mike are one of those couples you just love to be around, their positive energy and love of life really makes you want to get to know them even more. This is evident by the tremendous support of friends and family that came from all over the US and Canada to be there to celebrate their new life together.
Their love affair has always had a bit of romance mixed in and to propose, Mike went all out and surprised Lindsay with a trip to Vegas for the weekend! He picked her up after work, said we were going to dinner, but instead takes me to the airport (what a sly guy). After their plan landed in Vegas, they were on their way to baggage claim, riding the escalator, when Lindsay saw a limo driver holding a sign that said “Will you marry me Lindsay?” It took a moment to settle in but soon she realized what was going on. She immediately said “Yes!” Mike had rented a limo, made arrangements for a photographer, and they took a tour of the strip sipping champagne, after just getting engaged.
Lindsay, or should I say Dr. K, is the type of person who makes time for everyone. Her eyes and mannerisms let you know that she’s living in the moment and soaking in all that her wedding day had to offer. She demonstrated a rare and unique talent of a bride on her wedding day who thoroughly enjoyed herself and the precious time she was given to spend with her family and friends. As each person gave their congratulations you could feel the warmth returned in every hug and gesture Lindsay gave. As she entered the chapel, her eyes had a new sparkle, and you could feel the anticipation in every footstep as she was beginning her new life with Mike.
Mike is the type of man I would picture in a super hero movie. Strong and official in his Royal Canadian Mounted Police uniform, tall and handsome, he would be the type of guy that would intimidate some… but there is a side of Mike that washes away the “officialness” and shows you his warm heart. Not a moment goes by when his captivating smile doesn’t grab your attention, and then see that he’s smiling because of the person on this arm. A great story teller and adventure loving guy, the reception toasts revealed the fun and good times Mike has accumulated on his way to finding Lindsay. Mike stood tall and sharp as Lindsay walked down the isle with her father and once again, his smile really said it all.
Thank you Mike, Lindsay, your Wedding Party and your entire family for allowing us the privilege of sharing such a beautiful day with you. You’ve reminded us what it’s like to cherish your family and to live in the moment. You’ve also helped me to realize that a smile and a warm hug are always appreciated and remembered for a lifetime. Next time we come back, we’ll take out that 1952 Chris-Craft and go crabbing! Oh how I wish we could live right next door and enjoy life with the two of you! ……… Sincerely, Chris & Rae 😉
