The Project
SeniorSearch.com was a labor of love as well as a radical shift in the senior living marketing space. For decades, the status quo had been outdated aggregator websites that provided little to no decision making value to families in need of finding care for their loved one. As the first and only senior living video tour directory, Senior Search made the search for senior care and housing fast and easy for seniors and their families. Families can quickly find the right facility by virtually touring it online before ever visiting in person, save favorites and work together as a team to make the right decision.
The Goals
The goals of the site became very apparent when we found that the average user experience on any other competing site was far below the expected online search experience we’ve all come to know and love with world class websites.
Here is a breakdown of the goals for this brand new video based website:
- Provide a low cost per lead aggregator site with the highest conversion rates – conversion rates for most websites like these were less than 1%.
- Increase the inquiry to move in rate by provide as much decision making information as possible
- Allow communities to easily update their listing with relevant and timely information
- Make the user experience world class with innovative functionality and tools available on any device
Here is the explainer video that sums up all of the unique benefits to using the site. Each feature shown is not available on any other competing website.
Competing Website Analysis
Competition in the market, although well established, was far from a useable tool for the senior living search process and here’s what was found.
- Users had to enter contact information before seeing any additional content on the site
- Site content only showed small, thumbnail images
- Information on the site was not updated often and did not show current availability
- Calling the number on the screen lead to a representative of the website and not the senior living community
- There were no video tours of any community
- Designs were outdated and did not display relevant information to families
- Most sites did not work well on mobile devices
