Slice of Heaven: Slice 17 – Finishing
Today was a fantastic day and my slice of heaven comes from what happens when you finish something you set out to do. I feel that there are very few things in the world, if any, that can substitute for a job well done. There is a sense of accomplishment that comes from doing something and doing it right and that’s what I love about photography. Not only do you get to finish a wedding and feel like you’ve been hit by a bus and yet still feel an uplifted and almost “runner’s high” sensation as you crash when you finally get home, but you also get to mold and sculpt your images into a timeline of memories that your clients will be able to relive over and over for years to come. Today we finished two weddings, both good friends, and both unique in their own way. I love reliving the day as I go through each one with a fine tooth comb and pick out all the best reactions, smiles, glances, and pull out all of the emotion that surrounds a wedding day. Today we finished two more, now I can’t wait for March! Bring it on!
