Bridal Diaries: Real Life Brides – Angela
In 2011 I really wanted our blog to be something new, something a little more personal so I’ve asked some of my VIP brides to join in on the fun and tell us all about their wedding planning in the months leading up to their big day. I can’t thank them enough for the time and effort to journal for us every two weeks. I also can’t wait to see what fun stuff they find as they pursue their “dream” wedding. So without further delay… here is Angela and her story.
Shawn & Angela
Wedding Date: 9/24/2011
I am a small business owner. I begin my business in June 2007 with Premier Designs Jewelry. It was the best decision that I have ever made. I also have a small cleaning business to occupy my time during the day hours. A mother to four beautiful children who keep me smiling everyday! I have two older sisters, Cristy and Teresa. Two step-brothers, Johnny and Michael. Five step sisters, Hope, Amanda, Michelle, Wendy and Chris. My mom is my hero. She taught me everything I know about life. Fight for what you want, love unconditionally and always forgive. Shawn, my fiance, is an avid fisherman, motorcyclist and football watcher…. he’s been in the collision industry since high school after attending Wyoming Technical Institute. He has 2 wonderful (most of the time) daughters 13 and 11…….. One brother Shane and a rather small family other than that (soon to be changed). Amazing what a little patience can provide in life!!
Shawn and I met through a mutual friend, Monique Heizelman. Monique knew Shawn through school back in North Dakota. The two were chatting one night and Shawn expressed that he was told he wouldn’t find a good girl unless he moved back to North Dakota. So the story began….Monique replied so diligently! “Well, I know this girl!!” Shawn sent me an email that night and we will keep the contents of the email private. We immediately began talking and did so for two weeks. I flew down to Arizona Memorial weekend, 2010. We spent an amazing weekend together, but it ended too soon. After spending the weekend together we both knew that it was love at first sight. We were meant to be!
Shawn and I will exchange our vows on September 24, 2011 at the Francisco Grande Hotel & Golf located in Casa Grande, AZ. We are expecting 80-100 guests to attend our special day and share in the celebration of two hearts becoming one. Our ceremony will be held outside with a very pretty backdrop setting of blooming flowers and shubury. Our reception will follow at the same venue with a variation of selected entrees for our guests. Our vision is simple yet elegant. We have fun incorporated into our special day because we want our guests to remember it for a long time. We don’t want stress to take over our fun!! So be and lets be is how we are approaching our day!! The rehearsel dinner will be a simple BBQ with our close friends, bridal party and immediate family in a relaxed setting. We are still working out the details of the location but we have a vision of a park. Again, we are simple people who love to have fun and joke around!!
Not many things are left to plan for our special day as we have been planning since last June when he proposed. We are still trying to decide on who we want to do our wedding cake. Our flowers will be the asiatic lily with other mixed greens in the stemmed wrapped bouquets. Rhinestones will embellish my bouquet with a rhinestone broch on the stems of the flowers. Shawn will have a harley davidson charm embellishing his boutineer. Our DJ is going to bring in all the fun with his Elvis impersanation!! He will be performing our ceremony, ceremony music and directing our reception!! He is a hoot!! All of our ceremony and reception decorations are complete.

Our wedding colors are black and emerald green. Our theme is the intertwined hearts. Our bridal party will be wearing black, long flowy dresses with emeral green sash to accent the dress. You are reading about a very frugal shopper. I have joked many times that I should go into business for myself and help other brides find great deals on items they are searching for for their wedding. I have found the BEST deals and have kept our cost down on the small things so that we could really invest in the “Big” things. (our photographer)!! I have found great deals on ebay, sandsational sparkle, wedding camera store, hobby lobby, etc. I use coupons every single time!! I have NOT paid full price for any of my small items for the ceremony and reception!! We even shopped around our chair covers and sashes!!
Shawn and I have just been relaxing and enjoying each other. We enjoy riding the harley and spending one on one time with each other every chance we get. Dinner at Cibos, grocery shopping together, etc…..This is a task when you have six children!! We enjoy every minute of it!!
