Slice of Heaven: Slice 15 & 16 – Family
The last week has been a roller coaster and it was an unexpected one at that. With all the fun we have been having meeting with clients and rolling out new things we have also been saddened to discover that a close family member has been afflicted with breast cancer and it has progressed to other parts of the body. As sad as this is and a shock to our entire family, it has been heart warming to see the camaraderie and love that comes together when a family has some one in need. You see this person is what I would call a backbone in our extended family and someone who means the world to not only me, but my wife and children as well. She has always been there to support us as far back as I can remember. Now it is our turn to step up to the plate and help when it is needed most. Tonight was a great one indeed. We all got together for pizza and helped to get things squared away as the treatments begin and offer as much love and support as one can. The kids don’t really know what’s going on, but they can sense that something isn’t quite right and their tender little spirits are so precious to watch as they light up the lives of the people around them. So my slice of heaven today is seeing and believing that the power of love and friendship is as potent as any medicine out there… and one that can’t be purchased or traded, it can only be shared.
I love solving problems and creating something from nothing.
