Slice of Heaven: The Coolest Idea – Arizona Wedding Photographer
Happy Birthday to me. Well, it was back in January, but I just now got around to using my birthday present to fix a drawer in our bathroom. You see, I’m the kind of guy that doesn’t like paying people for doing things I know I can do myself. So many times I end up researching, reading, and looking through 2 hours of YouTube tutorials to figure it out but this time it was different. It all started when my sweet little girl didn’t want to brush her teeth. I’m not about to let her cute little attitude rot out her teeth, so in the struggle to get her to brush them, even for just a moment, she somehow grabbed the vanity drawer with her tiny toes (granted she’s a year and a half old) and flung the drawer out with a crash. As you’d expect, when the oak and MDF drawer hit the tile floor the face broke off and left a mess. The drawer sat like this for about 2 months while I waited to see what I was getting for my birthday! Enter the Kreg Jig. I saw it on the TV at the gym back in November and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Yes, I’m a nerd, it’s OK because I already know this.

Ok, to any of the ladies or gentlemen out there that don’t know what this little miracle device is, I’ll tell you. See my father has a huge shop, full of tools and jigs, devices for this and that, clamps, glue and everything you can imagine. Now we can build just about anything in that shop, but it take a LONG time and I don’t know how to use all of those tools. Plus the gluing and clamping is just annoying. Now, this little baby is awesome. Instead of gluing or joining or clamping, you just drill two holes (or more) with this special tool, screw in some special screws, and voila! you’re done. Making furniture can be accomplished in no time and I can’t wait to get started building my new desk!
Now, if you were to ask my wife how frustrating it is for me to not have the right tools for the job and how I’ll gladly express that to anyone who comes within 20 fit of me while working on a project, she’d tell you that this little repair job was quite a pleasant experience. Not a complaint, not an issue. Just quick and easy. So, I’d like to send out a big thank you to the Kreg Jig engineers that designed something that actually works, and works well. Thank you, from my wife and kids too, you ROCK.
I love solving problems and creating something from nothing.
