Maui Honeymoon

Kara wrote me a note about their Honeymoon in Hawaii!  I’ll let you see the fun photos they sent!

We had an amazing time. We started out our trip in Maui and drove all around the island taking a lot of pictures. We really enjoyed the Iao Valley, it was so green and the mountains were beautiful. Matt’s favorite part of Maui was driving up the volcano, When we got to the top it was pouring rain and 47 degrees outside!! Needless to say that was not my favorite part but the views on the drive up could not be beat. After Maui we took a very small plane over to Kauai and stayed there for five days. On the island I found my favorite beach. It was called Polihale Beach. In order to get to the beach we had to drive 4 miles on a bumpy road filled with pot holes. After we made it there, it was miles and miles of empty white sand beach and a great view of the start of the Na Pali coastline. The next day we hiked 6 miles in Waimea Canyon which was amazing (and tiring!). They call it the Grand Canyon of the Pacific and I think it is an accurate description. We also went on a sunset cruise of the Na Pali Coast and saw breathtaking views and even some humpback whales. Our honeymoon was fantastic but towards the end we started to miss our two beagles. When we got back we made an addition to our family, a 3rd beagle named Coltrane. He is the light colored beagle on Matt’s lap in the picture. We are so happy to have shared our day with you and to have so many amazing pictures!
