We decided back in March that once wedding season was over and the heat set in we would be off to a happy place… somewhere other than Phoenix. So our journey began with a stop in Greer, AZ after the wallow fire had done it’s damage. We loaded sand bags and did all kinds of service, so needless to say it was the first time I’d ever lost weight while on a vacation (for the time being… more to come on that later). My little home town of Eagar, AZ swells from a population of about 7 thousand (including Springerville) to...

I grew up in the White Mountains of Arizona. Mountains you say? Yep, and they contain the world’s largest stand of Ponderosa Pine trees, well, used to have the largest stand. If you’ve never traveled north from Phoenix you might not have any idea that there are ski resorts and mountains that stand 12,000 ft high. There is a little town on the Arizona/New Mexico boarder called Eagar and a two little resort towns, Alpine and Greer. Eagar only has about 8,000 residence and is a sleeply little town… for the most part, but...

When I first met Heather I was waiting for a Bride at Balboa Park in San Diego, CA. We had arrived a little early and were soaking up the cool southern California weather when I got a call from a Nebraska phone number. I had to answer because anyone from Nebraska who was calling me just had to be cool! Maybe I’d won the publisher’s clearing house and they were at my door while I was away? I was on the edge of my seat. When I answered the phone I was greeted by a very pleasant voice and she introduced herself as Heather. ...

I’m a desert lover… never have been able to tolerate the humidity back east. In fact… I feel like I’m going to suffocate when I go on a trip to Florida. So, seeing as how it’s a “dry heat” I thought I would show you just want that feels like. Today was hovering aroud 108-110 degrees so I took the kids outside and we took some readings with our ultra cool infrared thermometer, yes, I’m a guy and love gadgets… Inside the car it’s roughly 150 degrees… still not quite hot...

Most of the time my kids know that “Daddy is working” and they try to stay out of the office. Well, yesterday they decided that all rules were out the window and that my office chair was much more exciting than their pool, toys, slide, etc, etc, etc… my wife snapped this shot. You can’t tell but I’m about 2 inches away from falling off the chair… and no, they don’t hold still either! Gotta love my baby bears!...

Ok, picture this… I get a call from a gorgeous girl and her studly military fiance from Texas a few months ago. She heard we’d be shooting her sister’s wedding in Arizona (Heather & Ryan) in June of 2011 and wanted to chat with us about shooting hers as well… I was totally excited.. I love it when we have the privilege of shooting weddings within the same family because we get to see each other again! The only problem was they wouldn’t be in town until her sister’s wedding and they’d be...

Ok, when I think of beautiful, I think of nature, there really isn’t anything that compares to the majesty of a mountain range or the tranquility of a babbling brook. I’m a country boy that grew up with a stream behind my house and spent endless amounts of time out in the forrest tromping around and exploring. Now, when I think of beautiful weddings… I think of Jinnie and Matt’s wedding in Sedona. As an Arizona wedding photographer it is a real treat to get out into nature for a beautiful affair like this, especially in Sedona. The...
